Nokia to close down data access service Ovi Files

Nokia has decided to close down its Ovi Files service which allows consumers to access their computers data remotely, the world's top cellphone maker said in an e-mail to users of the service.
"Nokia is discontinuing the Ovi Files service, effective October 1, 2010," the company said, asking users to uninstall the Ovi Files Connector from their computers.Nokia to close down data access service Ovi Files
Nokia started to build its own Internet services offering in 2007, but has ramped down several unsuccessful products lately. Nokia built the Ovi Files service, which allows users to access files on their computers from any remote computer through Internet, on top of its 2007 acquisition of US firm Avvenu.
